A tragic traffic accident on the A14 on Wednesday evening led to a difficult fate in which a 20-year-old driver from Syria lost his life. The accident occurred near Großweitzschen and involved several vehicles, which led to a heavy traffic jam in the direction of Dresden between Leisnig and Döbeln-Nord. The accident increased in severity when a 28-year-old Romanian driver of an Iveco N1 hit the Ford Transit. A total of four occupants of the Ford Transit and the driver of the Romanian van were slightly injured. The Iveco was no longer drivable after the impact, while the Ford Transit and Audi A4 drove onto the hard shoulder. But that's not all: the 20-year-old driver of a BMW 320d drove into the Iveco at high speed. Both vehicles were severely deformed and the driver of the BMW suffered serious injuries. Despite all efforts at the hospital, he later died.
