  • 2. Elberadweg – 1300 km (840 km in Deutschland), leicht, Dresden und Hamburg sind dabei

  • 4. Donauradweg – 2850 km, leicht, mit Stopps in Regensburg und Passau

  • 6. Main-Radweg – 557 km, leicht, Frankfurt und Würzburg erleben

The Danube Cycle Path stretches over an impressive 600 kilometers, starting in Donaueschingen and ending in Passau, where you pass the beautiful cities of Ingolstadt and Regensburg along the way. It is not only considered one of the most popular, but also one of the most beautiful river cycle paths in Europe. In 2024 it celebrated its 40th anniversary. This shows once again that cycling in Germany is not just a leisure activity, but also a real passion.

Cycling holidays – a growing form of travel

The results of the ADFC cycle trip analysis 2024, which were created through collaboration with market research institutes, make it clear that cycling holidaymakers are an important target group for tourism. This analysis, which has been carried out since 1999, also helps to understand the behavior and needs of cyclists. Around 10,000 online surveys are carried out every year, which provide exciting insights into the cycling behavior of Germans. The results will be presented in an online broadcast at the ITB International Tourism Fair in Berlin and are also available in the ADFC dossier.
