An intensive training week for firefighters took place in a mobile fire training facility in the Meißen district from August 21st to 27th, 2025. The fire training facility was extremely well attended during this time and had an occupancy rate of around 90 percent. A total of 192 comrades took part, who were trained three times a day by three trainers. This represents the 16th use of the system for respiratory protection wearers in the district. The training content was varied and included, among other things, how to use the jet pipe, door openings and operational hygiene after a fire operation. In each exercise round, the teams had one hour to prepare for the different scenarios and apply the knowledge they had learned in practice. Firefighter training aims to prepare emergency services for a wide variety of challenges in the fire service, be it extinguishing fires or rescuing people and animals in distress. Realistic training conditions

A particularly exciting aspect of the week was the realistic training approach, which allowed firefighters to train under almost real-world conditions. This also included the assessment and measures when observing smoke layers as well as rescuing people, for example with the help of a training dummy that weighs around 80 kg. The participants also had the opportunity to test new protective clothing, which has proven itself very well in practice.
