Refreshing retreats in Meißen: Stay cool in the heat!
The summer heat is already clearly noticeable in Meißen, which is reflected in the empty seats in front of the popular ice cream parlors. But don't worry, the city offers many pleasantly cool places where citizens and visitors can relax. You can enjoy a pleasant 22 degrees in the city museum, which once served as a Franciscan monastery. It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and entry is 5 euros, reduced price 3 euros. There is also currently a special exhibition about the traditional pottery craft, which can be seen until November 3rd.
Another cool retreat is the Meissen Cathedral, whose majestic Gothic architecture not only pleases the eyes, but also keeps you cool at temperatures around 20 degrees. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the cathedral offers guided tours and an entrance fee of 6 euros (4.50 euros reduced).
