Holidays in Saxony: Plus buses and clock buses drive as usual!

In Saxony, the students are currently enjoying their well -deserved holidays, which means that traffic is rarer on many regional bus lines. However, the Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (VVO) remains on the pulse of the times and ensures that the plus bus and clock bus lines are traveling regularly during school-free time. This is confirmed by VVO employee Stefan Gerstenberg, who explains that these bus lines do not go on vacation.

The popular leisure goals are easily accessible thanks to the Plusbus lines. The highlights include, for example, the Plusbus 418, which takes passengers to the outdoor pool in Nossen, the Plusbus 532, which enables a trip to the Hoyerswerda Zoo, and the Plusbus 360, which leads to the summer toboggan run in Altenberg. During the school week, the plus buses drive every hour on Mondays to Fridays. Even on Saturdays, the service is guaranteed on at least six trips and on Sundays and public holidays on four trips per direction.

reliable clock for smaller places

For the connection of smaller villages, the VVO with five clock bus lines offers an attractive service that runs every two hours-also on Saturday and early in the evening. These lines are a real enrichment, as they continue to drive at a regular time during the holiday season and offer short transition times to trains and other bus connections. These offers are financed by the counties, the Free State of Saxony and the VVO.

The Plusbusse has been connecting several places in Saxony, including Dresden, Altenberg, Grossenhain and Sebnitz since 2018. Further connections extend between Kamenz and Bautzen as well as Hoyerswerda and Cottbus. In order to open up the region around Meißen and the Easter Mountains, an additional six lines were implemented.

state grants and modernizations

This year, the Free State of Saxony provides over three million euros for the operation of the lines in the VVO. This is part of a more comprehensive strategy for promoting local public transport in Saxony. A well -developed infrastructure is crucial for the quality of life and for the business location.

The Free State has set itself the goal of increasing the proportion of local public transport and continuously invests in innovative technology and the expansion of the infrastructure. Currently, 130 of the planned 153 lines are already in operation, which corresponds to an impressive progress of 73 percent. The educational ticket for students, which costs only 15 euros per month, is also very popular and enables the use of all public transport means.

With projects such as trans-borders+that develop innovative solutions for public transport in border regions, Saxony shows that it thinks in the future. This project is funded by the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE) and ends in November 2026. The modernization of passenger information plants and barrier -free stops is also supported by funding from the Free State.

Timetable information for all bus connections are available daily via the Infohotline 0351 8526555 as well as "https://www.vvoonline.de/plusbus"> www.voonline.de/plusbus . So you stay well informed during the holidays and can use the leisure activities in Saxony.
