Voluntary social year in Dippoldiswalde: Apply now!
From September 2025, the Winfriedhaus in Dippoldiswalde will open its doors to young people who are interested in a Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) or the Federal Voluntary Service (BFD). These programs are particularly recommended for those who want to be socially involved and gain valuable professional experience. The Winfriedhaus reports that the position not only offers numerous insights into the work of a church educational institution, but also enables active participation in seminar groups and in looking after guests.
What exactly can volunteers expect? Here you can gain practical experience in areas such as public relations, event organization, kitchen management and marketing. This colorful range of activities not only promotes the acquisition of social and professional skills, but also the volunteers' independence and self-confidence. The Federal Voluntary Service adds that the FSJ does not create employment relationships, but is similar to the legal status of trainees.
General conditions and application
The voluntary service usually lasts 12 months, with a minimum duration of 6 months and a maximum duration of 18 months. The working week is 39 hours and volunteers are entitled to 28 days of vacation per year if they serve for 12 months. It is also mentioned here that volunteers take part in accompanying educational seminars, which contributes to comprehensive educational support.
The financial conditions are also tempting: volunteers receive monthly pocket money of 250 euros as well as a subsidy for food and accommodation of 150 euros. In addition, all social security contributions are covered, which is an advantage that should not be underestimated for many young people.
Application details and deadlines
The application deadline for 2025 is July 31, 2025. Interested parties should put together their application documents, consisting of a cover letter, a CV in tabular form as well as a copy of the most recent school report and evidence of internships or voluntary work (if any). These can either be sent by post to the address Winfriedhaus, Tal Naundorf 2, 01744 Dippoldiswalde or by email to winfriedhaus@bddmei.de. Alternatively, you can apply via the Caritas Association of the Diocese of Dresden-Meißen.
Anyone who takes advantage of the FSJ should know that it is not only a form of civic engagement, but is also highly valued by society. In addition, the FSJ is often recognized as a waiting period for studying or counted as an internship. Anyone who is interested in a socially oriented year and is even under 27 years old may have the chance of a valuable experience that goes beyond personal commitment.
