Questenberg primary school in Meissen: Winning the German School Prize with innovation!

The Meißner Questenberg primary school has achieved a remarkable success: it was awarded the German School Prize. This ambitious award is presented annually by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Heidehof Foundation and is endowed with 30,000 euros. The headmistress Antja Buschmann convincingly presented the school's innovative concept and the results of her work have now paid off. So reported Sächsische.de.

In the summer, the Questenberg primary school was nominated for the award, and at the end of September Buschmann traveled to Berlin with a delegation for the award ceremony. The event took place on September 30th and was modified by WDR presenter Insa Backe and Maus, where the school was announced as the winner. There was a small geographical error - the school is in Saxony, not Saxony-Anhalt, which certainly caused a few laughs for the audience.

Joy about the award

The joy of winning was great. The headteacher, who described the announcement of the prize as an “anecdote for life”, had to take a deep breath after being told that her school had won the prize. “I could hardly take in anything of the event,” she admitted. The award is not only a big step for the school, but also a confirmation of its successful pedagogical concepts.

This award will continue to accompany Questenberg Elementary School. It is an example of innovative approaches in the German educational landscape. Such initiatives not only increase the school's reputation, but also benefit the entire education system in the region. Such successes show that dedicated work and creative curricula pay off.

The school management's recommendations for action, as well as the great commitment of the teachers, contribute to the positive school climate, which shapes their concept in a grassroots democratic way. After all, in times of changes in the educational landscape, the ability to innovate is what schools have in high demand today.
