Chemnitzer FC: Fun on the beach and test games are coming up!
Chemnitzer FC left their training ground at the Sportforum Chemnitz on Thursday to prepare for the coming season away from their usual surroundings in the sand of Frankenberg. Head coach Benjamin Duda, who is leading his second week of summer preparation, wants to offer the players a balance to the intensive training sessions by not neglecting the fun. This is also reflected in a relaxed training session that began with a three-kilometer run along the Zschopau bank.
Two teams then competed against each other on the temporary beach court. The goal was that the players from the middle of the pitch had to hit the crossbar of the goal - there was one point for every aluminum hit. Duda announced full of humor that the losing team had to buy the winning team an ice cream. These team-building measures are part of an extensive program that, in addition to training, also includes medical examinations and of course preparation for the first test matches, which are just around the corner ([Blick] reports that...).
Test match weekend and Beach Soccer Cup
On Friday, June 27th, the first test match against Rotation Göritzhain (9th league) awaits the Chemnitz team, kick-off is at 6.30 p.m. Another match follows on Saturday, June 28th, against Hartmannsdorfer SV, starting at 4 p.m. These test matches are not only an opportunity to implement the training content, but also a stage to introduce the team and show what level they are currently at ([Chemnitzer FC] provides information about this...).
At the same time, the Frankenberg Beach Soccer Cup is taking place this weekend. From 5 p.m., various company teams will compete against each other, followed by the junior teams on Saturday from 9:30 a.m., who will have a colorful supporting program, including face painting, cotton candy and popcorn. Sunday, June 29th, is for the leisure and women's cup, which also starts at 9:30 a.m. So there is a lot of activity and entertainment to be seen while the Chemnitzer FC men prepare at the same time.
Team development as the key to success
In today's world, when football teams are constantly changing, it is clear that team development plays a central role. Dr. René Paasch highlights that strong group cohesion, both task-related and social, is crucial to a team's success. Clear communication, trust and respectful interaction with each other are essential. Coaches should not only define the individual roles of players in the team, but also create a space in which creativity and team spirit can develop ([sports psychologists] emphasize that...).
The challenges in football make it clear that the time in the sand of Frankenberg is a valuable opportunity for the Chemnitz team to strengthen not only the physical, but also the mental and social aspects of the team. Because at the end of the day, it makes a difference whether you laugh or suffer together - and maybe also who pays for the ice cream.
