An exciting discovery tour by the Osiris terrarium association took place last weekend in the picturesque Zweiniger Grund near Roßwein. Organized by committed members and supported by qualified biologist Andreas Hurtig, who was previously part of the club himself, the participants were able to experience the local flora and fauna up close. Hurtig, who now works for NABU at Heynitz Castle in Nossen, gave insights into the flora and fauna of this unique region, which is often overlooked by walkers. Gerald Voland, who is responsible for public relations for Osiris, was full of enthusiasm about the discoveries and reported on a species of mosquito that normally belongs to the Baltic Sea and was spotted in the Zweiniger Grund. The discovery of an immigrated species of snail also caused a stir among nature lovers. Sächsische.de reports that the last joint excursion with Hurtig was 15 years ago.
The hike was led by Toni Löwe, the Haßlau local councilor, and offered the members of the association - who are not only interested in terrarium animals, but also in the surrounding area in Döbeln - the opportunity to combine active nature and shared experiences. This makes exploring the local nature twice as much fun!

The participants include the Roßwein community center, the Gleisberg textile circle and the Diakonie with its Roßwein workshops. New are the Döbeln Child Protection Association on Saturday and the Rabbit Association S 837 Döbeln Pomlitz e.V. with Kanin-Hop on Sunday.
