Gallschütz is celebrating a new playground - a festival for the whole family!

Gallschütz, Deutschland - on June 24, 2025 was an exciting day in Gallschütz, because the support association of the local fire brigade organized a children's festival in which the inauguration of a new playground was celebrated. Mayor Jörg Burkert described the inauguration as a real milestone for the community. The new playground, which now offers a safe and varied place to play and discover, is equipped with play equipment made of durable and weather -resistant robinia wood. The financing was made possible by generous donations from companies and private individuals, which is warmly recognized on a board in the playground.

This new movement space for children is located right next to the fire service equipment house, which is also used for club festivals. There were handicrafts, refreshing drinks and delicious cakes as part of the festival. With the new offer, Gallschütz, according to the districts of Großweitzschen, Mockritz and Westewitz, now also has an attractive playground, which the children accepted with enthusiasm.

In bright weather, the little visitors were not only allowed to explore the new playground, but also splashed out in a pool of straw bales, which was designed with pond film. A week before the start of the festival, it was filled with water and was now waiting to be used by the children. In addition, two bouncy castles and a football dart provided a lot of fun and action.

A very special highlight was the traditional pick -up of the children with the fire engine, which granted the little ones a round of honor through the village. Such moments strengthen the community spirit and show how important it is to give children space to play and discover.

In Germany there are standards that play a central role in planning and building playgrounds. The new DIN 18034 attaches particular importance to accessibility and inclusion to ensure that all children can play independently of their skills. This standard not only refers to newly planned systems, but also offers guidelines for conversions and extensions of existing playgrounds. Existing protection applies to existing places, so that they do not have to be rebuilt immediately.

It is important that inputs and outputs are designed so that you prevent direct access to the street. Another aspect of this standard are suitable safety precautions that ensure that water points on playgrounds may have a maximum depth of 40 cm to ensure the safety of the children.

The example of Gallschütz shows how a wonderful place for children can be created through joint commitment and threadable planning efforts where they can play, learn and grow. It is to be hoped that many other communities will follow this example.
