Medieval festival in Lichtenau: A day full of magic and joy!
The first medieval festival took place on October 25th at the Garnsdorfer Tierfarm e.V. in Lichtenau, and it was a complete success. Even before the official start at 3 p.m., the courtyard was filled with guests who strolled through the smell of fresh bread and spiced mulled wine in magnificent robes. The event attracted numerous visitors from Saxony and beyond who wanted to experience the atmosphere of the Middle Ages up close. Blick.de reports on a lively medieval market that had numerous offerings from candle making to felt art to talisman crafts.
There were also many attractions for the little guests: painting stones or having them draw - there was no chance of boredom here. The adults, however, enjoyed handmade natural cosmetics and delicious bread from the wood-fired oven at the Roder bakery. The selection of drinks also left nothing to be desired: spiced mulled wine and mead were the favorites among the visitors, who really enjoyed the warm and cheerful atmosphere.
Cultural highlights and animal joy
The organizers had come up with a lot of ideas: dance shows by the group “Silberreigen” at 3 and 4:30 p.m. provided good entertainment, followed by live music by the band “Ventus Infekto” in the evening. Another highlight of the program was the popular archery tournament, which brought young and old together.
There is a very special idea behind the festival. Ivonne Sarfert, the founder of the sanctuary, emphasizes the importance of the farm as a place of retreat and meeting place. Around 80 rescued animals, including ponies and chickens, live here and made the festival an experience for animal lovers. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the project. A look at other events
However, the Medieval Festival is just one of many exciting events in Lichtenau. A parents' evening on digital media literacy will take place in Haus Kontakt on Tuesday, October 28th at 6:00 p.m. A toddler meeting for interested families is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29th, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Wichtelburg daycare center. The community of Lichtenau has put together a varied program that offers something for all ages.
From a lantern parade that will start on October 31st to a horse adventure day on November 1st, where the children can not only do crafts but also interact with the horses, the anticipation is palpable. This commitment on the part of the community shows that a lot of value is placed on community and joy.
In summary, it can be said that the medieval festival at the Garnsdorf animal farm was not only a unique experience, but also has the potential to become an annual tradition. This means visitors can look forward to next year when the gates open again!
