Picnic in the Cotton Park: enjoyment in the open air on July 6th!
On July 6th, the cotton park in Flöha will be the scene of an unforgettable park picnic, organized by Manuel Grießbach, head of the Flöha trade and festival association. Not only culinary delights are planned, but also lots of entertainment with hits and hula hoop. Particular attention is paid to the sustainability of the event, which is increasingly coming to the fore, as sustainablearts.ch emphasizes.
Grießbach recently spoke to his team about the details of the picnic. The plan includes a wide range of workshops and activities that begin in the morning and continue into the afternoon. Participants can look forward to special highlights: from a garbage collection campaign in which carelessly discarded material is collected under the motto “No power to plastic”, to yoga with Ina Richter from Villa Weißbach, fitness courses and even a bread baking course with Jan Prager. The workshops start at different times and are limited to the number of participants, which is why registration is necessary.
Diverse program for young and old
The big picnic opens at 12:30 p.m. Everyone gets their money's worth here: children's entertainment ensures fun and entertainment, while musician Falk Eidner from Chemnitz provides musical accompaniment from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. From a culinary point of view, you can look forward to great surprises from the Kolibri ice cream factory and a homemade raspberry soda and cucumber-mint water are also on the drinks menu. A special highlight: The event promotes sustainability by inviting visitors to bring their own cups, soup bowls and cutlery.
Another important point is ticket sales. From July 23rd, tickets can be purchased in several Flöha shops, including the Kolibri ice cream factory, dieBRILLENBAUER and the Brillenstube in Flöha. Prices are family-friendly: children between 4 and 11 years old pay EUR 7, adults aged 12 and over pay EUR 12 and for families there is a family ticket for EUR 38. These tickets not only include access to the workshops and picnic, but also a wristband, which is required to stay in the park. With the ticket you also get three free drinks and three free snacks per person, which makes the whole thing even more attractive.
Sustainability in focus
Awareness of sustainable events is growing, and the picnic in Flöha follows this trend. Another example is the commitment of initiatives such as the Ecolibrium network from Bristol or the GREEN LIGA Berlin, which are committed to climate-neutral events. At the Flöhaer Picnic, the use of regional products and sustainable practices is also very important, which not only benefits the environment, but also gives visitors a good feeling.
In case of bad weather, a postponement to August 8th is planned, with some exceptions such as bread baking. If you have any questions, you can contact the ice cream manufacturer directly or send an email to daniel@floeha-erleben.de. Don't forget to bring your picnic blankets and look forward to a wonderful day at Cotton Park!
