Traffic chaos in the Meißen district: cyclist injured in accident!

The police ticker for the Meißen district has several reports today. A traffic accident in Gröditz is causing a stir: a 48-year-old Peugeot driver hit a 59-year-old cyclist at the intersection of Rathausstrasse/Reppiser Strasse/Marktstrasse. A blessing in disguise – the cyclist escaped with minor injuries, while the property damage is around 750 euros. It can happen so quickly: a moment of inattention and you're in the middle of the action.

But that's not all the police are currently dealing with. There have been an increasing number of traffic accidents in Radebeul recently, as radeberg-lokal.de reports. Particularly noteworthy is a serious accident on the B 165, which led to massive traffic disruptions on July 29, 2025. A 32-year-old man was also injured in a violent crime in Riesa - the police are urgently looking for witnesses who can provide information.

Missing person reports and construction sites

Another worrying matter concerns a 25-year-old man who was reported missing in Meißen. Family members and friends are hoping for the public's help in finding new clues. Initial information has already been collected by the police, but so far there is no trace of the missing person.

In addition, a road construction project ensures that the B 187 between Meißen and Riesa is closed to traffic. The diversion leads via Radebeul; So it's better to choose another route when traveling in the area to avoid traffic jams.

Crime situation in Saxony

A look at the Crime Atlas 2024, which analyzes registered crime in Saxony between 2020 and 2024, shows interesting developments. Based on police crime statistics, the frequency number is used to measure the crime burden. This number indicates how many crimes were recorded per 100,000 inhabitants. The major cities of Leipzig, Dresden and Chemnitz as well as neighboring communities are particularly affected. But don't worry, there are also numerous areas where the crime rate is encouragingly low, as polizei.sachsen.de explains.

Overall, the current reports show that the police are doing a good job and are trying to ensure security even in difficult situations. You can never be too careful - this also applies to road traffic and personal safety. Stay alert and help if you notice anything suspicious!
