A very special hiking adventure is just around the corner: On September 13, 2025, the 5th edition of the "Freiberger eight" takes place - a challenge for everyone who loves hiking in an impressive backdrop. The event leads the participants over a distance of 50 kilometers through the picturesque Montan region Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the Freie Presse are already over a third of the 300 available starting places forgive. The event not only attracts passionate hikers, but also friends of the history and culture of this unique region.
The starting point of the hike is located at the Häersteig retail center in Freiberg. From there it goes over the federal road towards Brand-Erbisdorf. On the left hand, the striking facility "three crosses" becomes visible. If you prefer an alternative access, you can use the bike path behind the "Last 3" restaurant to immerse yourself in the hike. A special attraction on the route is the former grace of God's treasure trove, which goes back to the 17th century.

The hike follows the beautiful Erzgebirge hiking trail - Vogtland, which leads through fascinating, historic landscapes. On the route, the hikers encounter numerous former mines and Shakthalders, who have shaped the region for centuries.
