An important event is coming up in Oschatz on September 2nd, 2025: the “Chance” training fair will open its doors and celebrate its 29th birthday. In the Oschatz town hall, also known as the Thomas Müntzer House, over 50 exhibitors will have the opportunity to introduce themselves from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This trade fair is not only organized traditionally, but also very special this year, as for the first time all vocational school centers (BSZ) in the district of Northern Saxony are taking part in a common stand. These include educational institutions from Schkeuditz, Delitzsch, Eilenburg, Torgau and Oschatz, which provide exciting insights into their disciplines.
The district of North Saxony is responsible for sponsoring the BSZ. In addition to the schools, visitors will experience a colorful mix of industries. From hospitals and administrative offices to the armed forces, retail and industrial companies, there is something for every preference. Skills were also taken into account at this training fair: the Chamber of Crafts, the IHK as well as the Saxon notaries and the State Chamber of Pharmacies are also on site.
Interactive offers and advice
Another highlight are the trade fair’s interactive offerings. Visitors can take part in a quiz to identify strengths, which is not only fun but can also help with personal orientation in your career. For anyone who would like support with their application, there is the applicant mile. Practical tips on checking documents as well as advice on photos and appearance are given here - a valuable opportunity for anyone in the application phase.
The district's regional heroes campaign is also presented in the outdoor area of the Thomas Müntzer House. Here you can find comprehensive information on various training and study areas. Modern technical equipment from the road maintenance department is also on display, some of which can be tested. An offer that is particularly popular with young people!
Cooperation for career entry
The “Chance” training fair is made possible through a broad cooperation between institutions. These include the Oschatz employment agency, the Oschatz city administration, the Job Center North Saxony, the Economic Development Corporation mbH of the North Saxony district and the School Economy Working Group of the Collm region. This collaboration ensures that the trade fair is not only a platform for training offers, but also a place for dialogue between companies and applicants.
