North Saxon senior footballers inspire in the TZ Bear Cup!

Things will get exciting in the North Saxony Football Association on August 11, 2025: eight of eleven veteran teams have made it to the second round of the TZ Bear Cup. A remarkable achievement that shows how vibrant local football is!

The duel between SC Hartenfels Torgau and Elbaue Torgau is particularly memorable. In a thrilling game that went into extra time, Hartenfels secured victory. Nico Bachmann, sporting director of the Sachsenklasse team, scored two penalties - the second came in the fourth minute of added time and brought the game to 4:4. He then set the final point in the 118th minute with the final score of 5:4. What a drama!

More exciting encounters

But the other teams also showed fighting spirit. Concordia Schenkenberg and Dommitzscher SV also made it to the next round. The Rackwitz/Zschortau syndicate didn't let anything go wrong and triumphed over their opponents. SpG Luppa/Wermsdorf, on the other hand, had to make the sad journey home, losing again against SV Wölkau. Coach Claus Theile reported that two key players were injured, which certainly didn't contribute to the team's performance.

A controversial penalty for Wölkau shortly before the end caused additional dissatisfaction among the Luppa/Wermsdorf supporters. Sebastian Freiberg received a yellow-red card shortly before the final whistle. But Blau-Weiß Wermsdorf and Traktor Naundorf were also able to confidently win their games. The senior teams from FSV Oschatz and SV Mügeln/Ablaß sent the teams from SpG Zwochau-Glesien and SG Pehritzsch home.

Prospects and appointments

The second round will be drawn next Saturday, during SV Naundorf's North Saxony League league game against FSV Krostitz. In the first round, the teams in Doberschütz got down to business. FSV Krostitz, who reached the semi-finals in the last two years, will face FC Terpitz, who have returned to the competition after a break. There are also interesting duels like the one between TSV 1862 Schildau, the most successful senior team, and Dommitzscher SV.

The draw also brings with it some hot matches: Here are the fixtures for the first round of the TZ Bear Cup:
