There will be a lot of celebrations in Mügeln next weekend! The eagerly awaited city festival will take place on August 16th and 17th, 2025, which promises a varied program for all age groups. As the LVZ reported, the festival starts on Friday at 4 p.m. on the Anger, where numerous showmen will probably present themselves.

The official opening of the city festival takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m. The mayor, the flower couple and the shooting club are expected on the stage in the tent on the market square. The program on Saturday has some highlights, including a daycare program and the performance of the Saxony Police Orchestra at 6 p.m. The Good Music Band will also provide musical entertainment from 9 p.m., followed by DJ Robby Kay.

Holiday program for young and old

On Sunday, visitors can look forward to a celebratory service at 10 a.m., followed by a musical performance by the Kemmlitz brass musicians. For the little guests, clown Mr. Pue ​​will be on stage at 2:30 p.m., and the “Oschis” will liven up the atmosphere at 5 p.m. A classic car meeting will also take place on Saturday from 2 p.m. on the Altmarkt.

Another highlight is the city competition run by the electricity supplier EnviaM, which takes place on Sunday from 11 a.m. For those interested, the “Mogelin” local association offers guided tours with a seven-wheeler, while a flea market in the “Mogelino” residence opens its doors from 2 p.m. The city festival also offers hands-on activities and a “place of communication” at the old cinema.

Musical sounds in St. John's Church

St. John's Church will also be part of the festival: a concert for organ and saxophone will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m., while the church will be open from 11 a.m. on Sunday. For connoisseurs there is a wide range of coffee and cake in the city center.

And the CVJM has also come up with some activities. A tube canal for mini ships is built, which is particularly popular with children. The festival will come to a festive conclusion on Sunday at 6 p.m. with an organ concert.
