Saxony's first year of agricultural trainees celebrates farewell!

An exciting day for agriculture in Saxony: On June 30, 2025, four agricultural trainees received their certificates and celebrated the successful completion of the first year of a newly established career training for the agricultural administrative service. This training center was set up by the State Office for the Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) in close cooperation with the Saxon Ministry of Agriculture, as medienservice.sachsen.de reports.

Until now, such special training was only possible in Bavaria, which is why the joy of completing it is even greater. Agriculture Minister Georg-Ludwig von Breitenbuch not only praised the committed performance of the trainee teachers, but also thanked everyone involved for their additional efforts during the training period. He wished the new civil servants an excellent start and much success in their future careers.

Insight into the training

The aim of the traineeship is clear: the future specialists should be optimally prepared for management positions in higher agricultural administration. Particular emphasis was placed on deepening and expanding the knowledge learned during the course. In areas such as pedagogy, rhetoric, agriculture and administration, the trainee teachers acquired crucial skills that had previously only been taught theoretically. This happens primarily through intensive contact and practical experience in specialist departments of the LfULG as well as at various specialist training centers, as lfulg.sachsen.de explains.

The training covers numerous topics, including political education, agricultural policy and business administration, as well as internship phases that enable you to get to know all relevant areas of the authority. The focus is always on acting independently and responsibly in order to prepare future managers in the best possible way for their future tasks.

Perspectives for the future

With the introduction of this innovative training, Saxony not only wants to increase the quality of agricultural administration, but also offer the young players comprehensive orientation in their professional homeland. The combination of theory and practice ensures that graduates can start their future positions well prepared. The joy over the successful start and the positive feedback from Minister von Breitenbuch send a strong signal for the future of agriculture in Saxony.

It is hoped that this initiative will be continued in the coming years to train more dedicated specialists and take agriculture to a new level.
