Saxony's press photo competition 2024: Participate and win now!
Dresden, Deutschland - The countdown is running! The “Blickpunkt 2024” competition of the German Journalist Association Saxony (DJV) starts today on June 23, 2025. Press photographers from Saxony have the chance to submit their best pictures of the year. We are not only looking for impressive snapshots, but also meaningful image stories that are awarded in four categories: "Press photo of the year", "Local", "Portrait" and "Sport". There is also a audience award for the most popular photo. LVZ reports of the uncomplicated participation, which via online upload, and a closing date on August 3, 2025.
This tradition has established itself since the start of the competition in 1998. The DJV Saxony has taken over the sponsorship and promises innovative measures to increase the visibility of the works. The competition work of last year will be presented in Dresden from August 9th to 24th. This exhibition not only shows the best photos on the wall, but also a digital presentation of a total of 110 works. Visitors have the opportunity to admire the pictures and at the same time coordinate which their favorite is. The audience award is awarded on the last day of the exhibition. The opening times are Monday to Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free. The competitions are not only supported by the DJV Saxony, but also by well -known partners such as the sächsische Zeitung, the Leipziger Volkszeitung, the Free Press and Tag24. This cooperation underlines the common goal of appreciating the photographic and journalistic work of professionals and amateurs.
