SC Freital footballers: Generous donations for daycare centers and schools!

In Freital last weekend there was double joy at the Freital Sports Club (SCF). The club has decided to donate all entry fees from its recent friendlies to two local institutions. In doing so, they support the Storchenbrunnen daycare center and the after-school care center at G. E. Lessing elementary school. This campaign comes at just the right time because the donations are particularly important for the social institutions in the city in times like these.

As Sächsische.de reports, the income from the test games of the league team against Radeberger SV and the U23 against Motor Wilsdruff flow into one Donation pot. This is also topped up by the Freital housing company and ADZ Personal GmbH with 500 euros each for each facility. A check will then be announced as part of the handover before the second game of the season against Bischofswerdaer FV, where the response from around 600 spectators will certainly be great.

Ceremonial handover of the donations

A special fundraising event took place before the game against Bischofswerdaer FV kicked off. During this ceremony, SCF President Jörg Schneider, WGF managing director Henryk Eismann and U23 coach Markus Weise presented the checks to the representatives of the two institutions. The ceremony took place in the WGF Arena and brought together educators, children and parents who were pleased about the financial support.

“It is important to us to support the children of our city,” emphasized Schneider, as the beaming faces of the children next to him ran onto the field hand in hand with the athletes. Such events not only promote a sense of community, but also show the important attention the SCF places on cooperation with regional partners.
