Monetary blessing for Reinhardtsgrimma: 2,500 euros won for the support association!
A small club from Reinhardtsgrimma has fought for something big! The members of the association for the support of mentally disabled children and young people were particularly active and attentive when they took part in a competition on the radio station MDR Sachsen. With a bit of luck and skill, CEO Anja Gräfe guessed that the person she was looking for was the fictional character Ilse Bähnert, portrayed by cabaret artist Tom Pauls. The club was able to look forward to a nice windfall totaling 2,500 euros, divided into two prizes of 1,250 euros each, like Sächsische reports.
But it wasn't just the win that turned the tide. The daily task, which was to bake Dresden Eierschecken by 2 p.m. and sell them in the “Ilse Bähnert Kittel Apron Style,” was successfully implemented. A total of 34 egg checks were baked and sold, which also contributed to the total funding amount. Anja Gräfe was grateful for the support: “The money will help our students enormously in their everyday school life,” she said.
A valuable contribution to education
The association, which is actively involved in the upbringing and education of children and young people in the “Upper Eastern Ore Mountains” support center, uses the proceeds mainly to purchase photography technology for seven classes. These funds are particularly important because they cover costs that are not usually covered by the school authority.
The “United Strong!” competition is open until November 7, 2025. This means that other non-profit organizations in the Free State of Saxony can also benefit from European funds. Radio listeners have the chance to join in the puzzles and win every day.
Funding in Saxony
It is also interesting that in 2024 over 767,000 players took part in the German television lottery and a total of 40 million euros were paid out. Around 50 million euros went to over 300 social projects in Germany, including 22 projects in Saxony, which were funded with around 2.9 million euros. The Network for Democracy and Courage association also recently received impressive funding of 225,000 euros for the development of a digital participation and organizational tool, from the proceeds of the German Television Lottery, as the [Network Courage](https://www.netzwerk-courage.de/pressemitigung-der-deutschen- Fernsehenlotterie-ndc-erhaelt-225-000-euro-foerderung/) reports.
Every support counts and technical progress brings improvements for many. The activities of these and similar associations show how important commitment and cohesion are for society.
