Police uncover illegal fireplaces: only campers warned!

On July 6, 2025 there were some interesting developments in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district. As the Sächsische.de reported, intensive controls took place in the Saxon Switzerland national park region between Friday evening and midnight. Saxon and Czech emergency services worked here, supported by rangers and a police helicopter, to detect illegal fireplaces.

The controls were a preventative measure to prevent forest fires. Although several campers were informed about the ban on open flames, fortunately there were no illegal fire pits. The police will continue to carry out these operations to ensure security in the region's forests.
