Sachsen-Energie rewards fire department heroes: 3,000 euros for the communities!
Things went haywire in Gohrischheide this summer when forest fires turned the region into a veritable flaming inferno. Thanks to the courageous emergency services who worked around the clock, a Sachsen-Netz substation was protected from the raging flames. diesachsen.de reports that the Sachsen-Netze employees in the crisis team were always available to correctly assess the danger situation and take appropriate measures.
To honor this tireless effort, 1,000 euros each were recently handed over to the volunteer fire departments of Gröditz, Zeithain and Wülknitz. The mayors Dr. Mirko Pollmer, Rico Weser and Enrico Münch proudly received the checks. “The safety of our community infrastructure is crucial in the event of fires and other natural disasters,” said a spokesman for Sachsen-Energie. The volunteer fire departments play a central role in this context and are always ready to support the community.
Importance of fire prevention
The Sachsen-Netz has been committed to fire prevention since 2009. They provide mobile fire training facilities for volunteer fire departments in the districts of Bautzen, Görlitz, Meißen and the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. This cooperation, which is of great importance in crisis management, will be continuously strengthened through exercise weeks that took place in August and September 2023. Here the volunteers trained under real conditions with temperatures of up to 400 degrees. The focus is on prevention, aftercare and a joint evaluation of crisis operations.
Our infrastructure is like knitting: if you don't have the right tools, things quickly become complicated. An article about knitting reports that a good selection of materials and utensils is essential to get started. The basis is, among other things, the knitting needles, which can vary depending on the project - straight, double-pointed or circular knitting needles are the most common. Wooden or bamboo needles and worsted weight acrylic yarn are often suitable for beginners.
Tips for beginner knitters
But what else goes into a good knitting set? Here is a small overview:
- Maschenmarkierer
- Stopfnadeln
- Scheren
- Strickmaß
- Stricktasche
- Haftnotizen oder Washi-Tape
- Reihen-Zähler
In any case, these tools make it much easier to get started with knitting, because just like in the fire department, the same applies here: good ideas follow good tools. Whether it's fire protection or knitting - a good hand and the right tools make the difference!
The close cooperation between Sachsen-Netz, the communities and the volunteers is essential in order to be able to act quickly and efficiently in an emergency. How important this is has become particularly clear in recent times of crisis. We would like to thank all those who are committed to protecting and security in our region and thus helping to ensure that there remains a ray of hope even in difficult times.
