Social Christmas market in Pirna: Celebrate and donate for children!

The anticipation of the Christmas season is gathering pace! The social Christmas market on Pirnaer Sonnenstein is just around the corner and promises a festive weekend for young and old. On December 13th and 14th, 2025, the gates of the market on the Lebenshilfe premises at Varkausring 108 will open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This event is organized for residents, families and guests under the patronage of District Administrator Michael Geisler. A special focus is on the good cause: the organizers are asking for gift donations to enable children to have a wonderful Christmas time. The collected gifts, which should be suitable for children aged 0 to 16, are packed in Christmas bags and ideally provided with information such as gender and age group.

If you would like to participate, please note the deadline for gift donations is December 3, 2025. The drop-off points are located in the citizens' offices of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district office in Pirna, Freital, Dippoldiswalde and Sebnitz. Among other things, toys, books and learning materials are collected; of course, these should be new or in mint condition.

But that's not all! The Christmas market offers a varied stage program with dance, music and magic. For the little guests there are a variety of crafts and games, face painting and Christmas treats. And what could be more festive than free entry to a great, community event?
