Danger of severe weather on Monday: thunderstorms and squalls over Saxony!
Summer is currently showing its varied side. With temperatures in Saxony ranging between 26 and 31 degrees, people enjoy friendly weather. But the nice weather won't last long. Already on Sunday evening there will be more clouds, the first harbinger of a change in the weather, as medienportal-grimma.de reports.
The wind conditions will also be interesting. Strong gusts are expected on Saturday afternoon, blowing from a southwest to westerly wind. At night temperatures will drop to 16 to 11 degrees, while light showers will be in the air.
The change in the weather
Monday brings the big weather change, accompanied by a cold front from a low pressure area from southern Scandinavia. It will still be dry in the morning, but from the afternoon onwards there will be heavy showers and strong thunderstorms. Gusts of wind with speeds between 65 and 80 km/h cannot be ruled out, and heavy rain with up to 20 liters per square meter can occur. Hail is also possible. Temperatures fall to 21 degrees in Vogtland, while they could still reach 24 degrees in northern Saxony.
As a special treat for those interested in the weather: In southern Germany, temperatures exceeded 30 degrees for the first time this year on Friday evening. 30.4 degrees were measured in Waghäusel-Kirrlach, while 30.1 degrees were recorded in Ohlsbach, reports tagesschau.de. People enjoyed the bathing weather in the lakes and outdoor pools, while another huge change in the weather is imminent this weekend.
A look at the future
However, the unpredictable temperatures and the associated weather conditions are not just short-term phenomena. According to that Federal Environment Agency Climate change is already having a significant impact on Germany, affecting almost all areas of society. Heat waves like those that occurred in 2003 are expected to become more frequent. This not only impacts personal well-being, but can also threaten agriculture and water availability.
The interaction between weather phenomena and climate requires all of our attention. Whether it's grilling in the garden or in the outdoor pool - the weather not only influences our leisure activities, but also long-term strategies for adapting to the consequences of climate change. The development of suitable measures in water management, agriculture and energy supply is becoming increasingly important in order to meet the challenges of the future.
