BSV Sachsen Zwickau: 216,000 euros grant for stadium return!

BSV Sachsen Zwickau can breathe a sigh of relief: the city's finance committee has approved a grant of 216,000 euros for the use of the town hall. This ensures that the women's team can play in the town hall again next season after the club managed to stay in the league against Bayer Leverkusen. The subsidy is of great importance for securing the new Bundesliga season, as the cost per home game in the town hall is around 20,000 euros.

However, the venerable BSV home in Neuplanitz, which was traditionally used for games, does not meet the requirements of the Bundesliga. There are no solutions in the near future: returning to Neuplanitz is not possible until 2027 at the earliest. In addition, plans for a new sports hall in Neuplanitz have stalled; A realistic start of play there is not expected until the 2028/29 season. Until then, the town hall will remain the central venue for the women's team.

Prices and tickets for the home games

  • VIP-Tageskarte: 80,00 €
  • Vereinsmitglieder 7-13 Jahre: 5,00 €
  • Vereinsmitglieder ab 14 Jahren: 10,00 €

There are also season tickets for the 2024/2025 season, which cost between 105 and 185 euros, depending on the category. These apply to 12 home games, including one play-off/down home game.

The gaps to the new hall

The gap between traditional venues and the requirements of the Bundesliga is not small, and BSV will do everything in its power to attract spectators to the Stadthalle in the coming season. Despite the challenges, the club remains optimistic and calls on its fans to support the team in the heart of Zwickau and not in Neuplanitz.

As the Sports show reports, the late decision regarding the grant is a challenge that has now been overcome. And with a subsidy of 18,000 euros per game for a total of twelve home games, nothing can go wrong.
