Ex-HFC captain Nietfeld: From Halle to Altglienicke - a new beginning!

Jonas Nietfeld has found a new sporting anchor: The ex-captain of Halleschen FC is moving to VSG Altglienicke in the regional league. After six years full of ups and downs in the HFC uniform, where he played 198 games, this is a significant step for the 31-year-old, who has made a name for himself in the third division and even in the second Bundesliga.

The decision to leave Halle was not easy for Nietfeld. Despite his efforts to extend his contract, he was not allowed to try again. “I never thought it would end like this,” he said emotionally. Many HFC fans were upset about the club's decision not to keep him. At the same time, Nietfeld wanted an earlier and clearer statement from the club about the contract extension, especially since he needed time to prepare after a serious injury. Aside from the sporting aspects, personal matters also played a role.

A new phase of life in the regional league

There are changes for the native of Halle not only in terms of sport, but also in his private life. His wife moves to Lüneburg, which leads Nietfeld to move his life there too. This was a significant factor in his decision to choose Altglienicke, as the train connection from Berlin to Lüneburg is just under three hours, significantly shorter than the six hours to Zwickau, which would also have been an option.

For VSG, Nietfeld will be able to play both as a center forward and in defense. With his experience from over 200 games in the 3rd league and two seasons in the 2nd Bundesliga, he brings valuable quality to the team. The change was announced in a post on Instagram by Altglienicke and is taking place as part of the team's redesign of the squad.

A reunion with the HFC

The anticipation of returning to the HFC will be great, because a reunion is already on the agenda: in mid-October he will play with the VSG against his former club. Nietfeld not only left a lasting impression on the HFC, but also on his fans, who didn't make it easy for him to say goodbye.

His move to Altglienicke, where he will play in the Spree-Arena Fürstenwalde, should attract a lot of eyes. The regional league has accepted him and the next challenges await him - both as a player and on a new path in life.
