Behind the scenes: This is how the team keeps SG Barockstadt in the race!

At the SG Barockstadt training camp, which takes place at the idyllic Störmthaler See, everything revolves around team spirit and optimal preparation. The team behind the team, consisting of nine dedicated people, ensures that everything runs smoothly. Team manager Maximilian Hainer takes care of the organization, while assistant coaches like Yasin Kocatepe and goalkeeper coach Witold Sabela ensure that the training processes are effective. Physiotherapy plays a very special role, and Finn Göttlicher has his hands full here, especially when his colleague Christopher Bunk had to travel back to Fulda for personal reasons. Finn was solely responsible for the physiotherapy, had to improvise and even treated the players in the stands during training.

The days in training camp usually go like clockwork. It starts at 7 a.m. and the players are busy until after midnight. With intensive training sessions and a friendly against Zwickau, there is hardly any time for a breather. “The players have to be looked after optimally,” emphasizes Göttlicher, who treated twelve players during the units. The physiotherapists also play a key role in coaching meetings by providing valuable information about the physical strain on the players.

The diversity of care

What makes a strong team? “A team is only as strong as its weakest player,” it is often said. That's why it's particularly important that every team member receives the necessary support during training. Be it preparing for the next games, minimizing injuries or regeneration after intensive sessions – the tasks of physiotherapists are diverse. In addition to rehabilitation after injuries, they also need to take preventative measures against muscular problems and develop training and warm-up programs.

The exchange between the coaching team and players is crucial. The physical therapists act as facilitators to ensure everyone is on the same page. On the CIS Physiotherapy website there is a lot of information about the importance of this professional care. The opportunity to receive qualified treatment seven days a week is appreciated by many players as it can help enormously with regeneration and motivation.

The spirit of the team

Head coach Daniyel Cimen emphasizes the valuable role of the staff and emphasizes that team spirit is not only created through sporting performance, but also through the positive charisma of the people in charge. “The mood in the team is crucial,” explains Cimen. A good relationship between players and staff can often tip the scales when it comes to success during the season.

As you can see, there is a lot going on behind the scenes at SG Barockstadt to prepare the players for the challenges of the coming season. The entire team, including the dedicated physiotherapists, shows that it takes both sides to make football not just a game, but an experience. SG fans can only hope that the intensive preparation will pay off in the coming games.
