Mini Zwickau opens its gates: adventure for children starts!

In the coming week, the Pestalozzi School in Zwickau will be the scene of an exciting adventure - the play city "Mini Zwickau" will open its doors on Monday! The event, which takes place from June 30 to July 11, 2025, is aimed at children aged 7 to 14 and promises to provide many exciting experiences. The children have the opportunity to replay the life of adults and try out various professions, similar to how it is already successfully practiced in other children's play cities.

A special highlight of this year's edition are the new offers that the children are supposed to attract. In addition to tried and tested institutions such as the Sparkasse and the bakery, young citizens can also integrate city management, a police station and a hospital into their game this year. The commitment is not only limited to playing - the kids also have the opportunity to paint a SVZ line bus, which will then drive through Zwickau.

organizational details and registration

Preparations for the event are already in full swing. "We endeavor to optimally design both the organizational framework and the activities for the children," said the organizers. The registration options are diverse and extend over several municipal youth facilities, including the children's and youth leisure center "City Point" and the youth club "Airport". The registration deadline was on June 26, 2025, whereby a on-site registration in the play city is only possible for remaining places. This applies particularly to a personnel bottleneck- in the children's and youth café "Atlantis" the registration was not possible by June 22, 2025.

The play city "Mini Zwickau" is not only a creative booth for the kids, but also a platform to promote important values such as teamwork and responsibility. Therefore, small competitions with players of the FSV and a weekly market are planned, which ensures additional variety. They are the little things that make the event unique!

A look into the future of the children's play city

An interesting detail about the history of these gaming cities: The exchange of experiences and the solution of practical problems through a network of organizers of children's play cities are fundamental elements of their development. The concept of children's play cities is made known and information is provided in multilingual via a specially designed website. In Germany there are already successful examples such as Mini-Munich and Mini-Salzburg that could serve as inspiration for the play city in Zwickau.

In addition, the donation button of "BetterPlace.org" remains active in order to secure financial support for this year's event. Last year the funding collected via the Internet was successfully used to enrich the event.

Finally, it can be said that the play city "Mini Zwickau" is a great project that will not only make a lot of fun for the small citizens, but also make a valuable contribution to the community. All children are cordially invited to immerse yourself in the exciting world of adult with a lot of vigor and creativity!
