Raid in Saxony: Strike against right-wing terrorist United Patriots”!

On Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025, there was a lot of activity in Saxony. In a series of raids carried out by the Saxony State Criminal Police Office's Rex special commission, investigators executed their search warrants in several cities, including Dresden, Görlitz and Leipzig. These measures are aimed at combating right-wing terrorism and are directed against five men between the ages of 47 and 77. The Radio Zwickau reports on this extensive campaign.

The focus of the investigation is the “United Patriots”, also known as the “Kaiserreichsgruppe”. One suspect is said to be part of this group, while another is accused of supporting it. Another three men, however, knew about the group's dangerous plans but did not report it to the authorities. The “United Patriots” apparently aimed at violent destabilization of the federal government and planned to bring about civil war-like conditions in Germany.

Goals of the group and concrete plans

According to information from the Sächsischen.de The group's supposed plans for a coup were frighteningly concrete. Among other things, a nationwide power outage in Germany was considered. Also shocking was the idea of an armed kidnapping of former Health Minister Karl Lauterbach during a live talk show.

Not to be forgotten is the goal of deposing former leading politicians such as Olaf Scholz and Frank-Walter Steinmeier. These extreme views and plans pose a serious threat to security and democracy in Germany.

A worrying trend

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution shows a worrying trend in current statistics: the violent right-wing extremist potential has increased to around 15,300 people, which is also reflected in an increase in right-wing extremist crimes. There were an impressive 37,835 recorded offenses in 2024, an increase of 47.4% compared to the previous year.

This development should give us all pause and shows how important it is to keep our eyes open. Right-wing radical groups are increasingly trying to infiltrate their ideologies into the middle of society and often use socially controversial topics to do this. It is time to confront this and defend the values of democracy.
