Summer vacation fun: Zwickau museums attract family programs!

Zwickau, Deutschland - The coming summer holidays in Zwickau promise exciting experiences for small and large art lovers. From the beginning of July to the beginning of August 2025, the local museums offer a varied program that is aimed especially at children and families. The popular priesthouses and the Max Pechstein Museum invite you to family tours, treasure searches and creative workshops. These initiatives aim to inspire young people for culture and art and are supported by projects such as "Museum makes strong" of the German Museums Association, which is promoted by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, among other things, as [Germany.de] (https://www.deutschland.de/de/topic/museen-in-in-fund-projekt-kinder- und-youth).

On July 3, 2025, the starting signal for holiday activities with a family tour by the priestly houses is given. These guided tours take place on several dates, including on July 23 and August 8. Adults have to pay 7 euros for admission, children pay 4.50 euros reduced. In addition, the participants can look forward to exciting treasure searches that are offered on July 4th and August 1, 2025.

Various offers for creative

The Max Pechstein Museum in Zwickau also plans two special events: Under the motto "Greetings from near and far", children from 6 to 15 years on July 29th between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. can become creative. On August 5, the "color experiments" take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Entry to these events is 4 euros, there are reduced prices and children up to 18 years of age can take part.

While the anticipation of summer activities is growing, the Max Pechstein Museum faces a challenge. As part of a comprehensive general renovation, all exhibits must be removed from the building. The most valuable works of art in the museum make their way to a tour to be accessible to art lovers outside of Zwickaus. According to Freie Presse, the Lessingstraße between Crimmitschauer and August-Bebel-Straße is also closed.

In this context, however, it also becomes clear that the Zwickau museums are actively working on introducing children and young people to art. This is done by the exciting programs that are offered as part of the “Museum makes strong” project. It is gratifying that over 17,000 young people have already benefited from these offers, according to the statistics.

The Zwickau museums are the perfect place for families this summer vacation to spend time together, learn new things and become creative. With an interesting program and the opportunity to discover the cultural scene, summer in Zwickau can be enjoyed in a relaxed manner. If you want to be there, you should definitely register in good time!
