Spielstadt Mini Zwickau: A summer full of adventures for the children!

In the first two summer vacation weeks, exactly from June 30th to July 11th, 2025, the little Zwickauer expect an exciting adventure in the play city "Mini Zwickau". The hustle and bustle in Pestalozzi School, Seminarstrasse 3. Here, children aged 7 to 14 years from Zwickau and the surrounding area can immerse themselves in the world of adults and try out various professions. As the city of Zwickau reports, a total of 37 companies with around 270 jobs are available to give exciting insights into the world of work. Known companies include the Sparkasse Mini Zwickau, the residents' registration office as well as creative offers such as an instrument construction workshop, which is supported by the "Music Swap Lab" of the German Chamber Philharmonic Bremen.

If you wonder what else there is to discover, you can get a varied program. Sports competitions with FSV Zwickau, traffic safety training and even a visit to the youth fire brigade are on the agenda as well as the big election campaign for mayors and city council. In addition, a SVZ line bus is painted with creative artwork and to the delight of all there will be exciting water features. A final party with a colorful stage program rounds off the two weeks. The event therefore promises not only to be worth teaching, but also extremely entertaining.

participation and registration

Registration for participation in the play city is currently underway. Interested parents should hurry- the registration deadline is on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Registration is possible in several municipal youth facilities, including the children's and youth leisure facility "City Point", the leisure center Marienthal and the youth club "Airport". However, it is important to note that due to personnel failures, the children's and youth café "Atlantis" is expected to be available until June 22nd.

Participation for the children costs 2 euros per day, for the owner of the Zwickau family pass only 1 euro. Lunch can be booked for 3 euros, which was necessary due to increased food prices. The daily opening times are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with siblings and adults welcoming on Fridays from 2 p.m.

commitment and support

The play city is organized by the association of free and local authorities of child and youth work in Zwickau. Children can not only immerse themselves in exciting professions, but also actively participate in the design of their city, for example by using the special play city currency. The team consists of committed educators and supervisors who support the children in their tasks. In the past, there have already been successful fundraisers about the "BetterPlace.org" platform, and this year too, a donation button remains active to enable additional financial support.
