Train failures in Vogtland: Buses replace trains until August 2025!

From July 8th to August 1, 2025, travelers on the RB 2 regional railway between Zwickau and Plauen have to prepare for nightly train failures. The reason for this interruption is extensive construction work that affects the tracks between Reichenbach (Vogtl) and Neumark. According to Länderbahn during this period is replaced by buses, so that travelers have to use alternative means of transport.

The construction work includes track renewal and bedding cleaning and are necessary to improve the infrastructure in the long term. The replacement buses will run from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the day and stop at important stops in the region, including Zwickau Zentrum, Zwickau Hbf and Reichenbach. Short diversions of the bus connections can also occur, which means that travel times could extend by around seven minutes.

It should be noted that the construction work will last longer: From June 27 to July 18, 2025, road construction work between Neumark and Reichenbach will also take place. These additional work will also have an impact on travel.
