Zwickau's young talent is looking for a stage: Matilda brings a breath of fresh air into design!
In Zwickau, creative minds have the chance to shine on a big stage! The IHK Zwickau project enables young talents to present their work in the areas of design, crafts, painting, music and technology. A highlight this year is the “MakerZafari 2.0” student competition, which is aimed at young people in grades 6 to 12 and runs until July 11th. Young people can submit their creative projects and secure the opportunity to win interesting prizes. The best works will be presented and awarded at a final event on August 30th at Project 46 in Zwickau, as [blick.de] reports.
A big focus is on 14-year-old Matilda Pollak, who has the dream of becoming a fashion designer. During the winter holidays, Matilda took a sewing course at the Zwickau Youth Art School, under the guidance of the experienced fashion designer Petra Pischler. In this course she designed and sewed her first outfit: a modern, striped garment that can be combined with both a long-sleeved shirt and a T-shirt. Matilda is full of energy and has decided to take part in the “MakerZafari 2.0” competition with her outfit.
Looking for talent
The competition not only encourages young people to give free rein to their creativity, but also brings together entrepreneurs and young talents. “MakerZafari 2.0” not only promotes art, but also self-confidence and the opportunity to actively shape your own future. Participants can benefit from cash and non-cash prizes and make new contacts, which is an exciting opportunity not only for Matilda, but for everyone involved.
Matilda isn't slowing down and is taking a summer sewing course from July 7th to 11th. For her 15th birthday, her family gave her a sewing machine that would help her continue to make her design dreams a reality. Anyone interested can already register with Kathrin Buschmann to become part of this creative movement, as [freipresse.de] also reports in its article.
Digital future and creative challenges
But the creative landscape is also changing due to the influence of digitalization. This topic will be addressed as part of the 55th International Youth Competition “jugend creativ”. The competition under the motto “Really digital” supports the creative engagement with advancing digitalization in the areas of film design and expression. Participants are invited to explore digital tools and implement innovative ideas, as described in detail in [jugendcreativ.de].
The rapid development in the digital world not only brings with it new professions, but also calls for critical reflection and exchange among young artists. This shows once again that creativity is very popular at all ages and that the stage in Zwickau is an important platform for many people to make their own talent visible.
Overall, one thing is certain: the creative scene is flourishing in Zwickau, and with projects like “MakerZafari 2.0” and the commitment of young talents like Matilda Pollak, the future will be colorful and diverse.
