Scary reading at Posterstein Castle: Goosebumps on Halloween!

On October 31st it's that time again: at the picturesque Posterstein Castle the atmosphere becomes spooky and tense, because the third Scary reading for adults takes place. This event not only captivates horror fans, but also everyone who loves the horror in literary classics.

Ronny Ristok and Franziska Huberty will read. Ristok, who lives in Posterstein and works as a theater photographer at the Altenburg Gera Theater, has a great soft spot for the horror genre. Huberty, on the other hand, brings historical expertise as a historian at the Posterstein Castle Museum and is known as the voice of the podcast “Reading TIME at Posterstein Castle”. Their combination of knowledge and passion should promise a captivating evening.

A Halloween full of showers

The reading is exclusively for adults and promises to delve into the deepest depths of horror literature. Horror literature is often characterized by fears and the unknown. The genre features everything from murderous monsters to strange hags bursting out of the shadows. Did you know that the term “horror” is derived from the Latin “horrere,” which means “to tremble”? So it's no coincidence that some people might feel a slight chill while reading it.

If you are interested in the event, you should hurry up: the entrance fee is 15 euros, a drink is already included. Places are limited and pre-registration is required on (034496) 22595. Tickets are only available while stocks last - a good deal for that real spooky feeling!

Autumn festival at Posterstein Castle

The reading is part of an exciting time at the castle. Around 700 guests were welcomed in the first week of the autumn holidays. A holiday puzzle entitled “Old Wives’ Tale” takes visitors through the past, with the exhibition offering a journey back in time to the late Middle Ages. Those interested can solve the puzzle until October 19th. Another highlight is Spirit Day on October 31st, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On this day, characters from the Posterstein world of legends come to life and provide a gruesome spectacle for young and old. So there is reason enough to visit the castle and let yourself be carried away into the dark atmosphere!

Visitors can already look forward to the upcoming exhibition “Nothing Else New,” which deals with field mail from the First World War and can be seen until November 16th. In addition to other events such as the traditional nativity scene exhibition, which starts on the 1st of Advent, the castle remains a lively attraction for those interested in culture.

The horror reading is not only a celebration of horror literature, but also offers a great setting to immerse yourself in frightening stories together. Whether you're a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King, or just a thrill seeker, this will be a Halloween night not to be missed!
