New road section near Altenburg: L 1355 is finally released!
Finally the time has come: On Friday, the state road 1355 near Altenburg, between Gerstenberg and Lehma, will be opened for traffic. This gratifying news not only brings relief for commuters and residents, but also hope for less traffic jams and continuous mobility in the region. The LVZ reports that after the acceptance will take place in the morning, at the latest, but at the latest from 4 p.m. Originally, the construction site should be completed on June 6th, but due to additional renovation work on a section around 150 meters long, the time frame has extended for 14 days.
The renovation work included a total of 2.5 kilometers long and include the renewal of the black ceiling, new street trenches, banquets and markings. These extensive measures cost around 700,000 euros. In addition, the neighboring roads between Lehma and Wintersdorf were also repaired in the low -traffic period. The Thuringian State Office for Building and Transport (TLBV) used this opportunity to immediately improve the street scene.
diversions and traffic volume
The situation was anything but pleasant for the residents during the construction period. In the first construction phase, road users had to accept a detour of 18 kilometers via Altenburg, Rositz and Kriebitzsch instead of the usual 8 kilometers. This was particularly annoying for the passengers of the regular buses and the S5 and S5X rail replacement traffic. These detours caused displeasure, which is not unfounded, because such a blocking brings an additional burden on the residents.
The release of the L 1355 not only brings a return to normal, but also strengthens mobility in the region. Isn't that important in times when traffic can increase more and more? Thuringia goes on with a good example and shows how important well -developed roads are for a functioning traffic infrastructure.

Thuringian mobility network
The Thuringian Mobility Network (TMN) also plays a central role. The TMN has set itself the task of promoting efficient mobility for the region and developing innovative solutions, especially for rural areas. A clear strategic impulse is required in view of the demographic change and the changed mobility needs. You have to start somewhere to be up to the challenges of the future.Details | |
