The latest Corona data shows a 7-day incidence of 7.1 per 100,000 inhabitants. In the last week, 151 new corona cases were registered, with the highest incidence in the over 80 age group at 17.4. RSV and other respiratory diseases
When it comes to acute respiratory diseases, the incidence in the eastern region is worrying. The incidence of acute respiratory diseases is 8,100 per 100,000 inhabitants, while the incidence of flu-like illnesses is 1,000 per 100,000 inhabitants. In a nationwide comparison, the average is 7,500 for ARE and 1,300 for ILI, like that Robert Koch Institute reported.
Interestingly, compared to the previous week, no new RSV cases were recorded in week 43, which brings the incidence down to 0. This also meant that the peak of RSV cases was far behind with 202 new cases in week 13/2025.
COVID-19 symptoms and management
In order to better understand the situation surrounding COVID-19, it is important to know how differently people are affected by the virus. According to the World Health Organization Most sufferers develop mild to moderate symptoms, which usually resolve without hospitalization. Typical symptoms include fever, cough, fatigue and loss of taste or smell. However, serious symptoms require immediate medical attention.
On average, symptoms appear 5 to 6 days after an infection, although it can take up to 14 days for the first signs to become visible. Therefore, mindfulness is required and a visit to the doctor should be carefully considered. If you are unsure, you should contact your doctor beforehand and not go straight to the practice.
In the current health situation, it is crucial that the population remains well informed. While the incidences of respiratory diseases and the COVID-19 situation in Thuringia continue to be monitored, it remains important to be aware of how to protect your health and that of those around you.
