Leinefelde-Worbis: living space instead of green! City council decides change
Worbis, Deutschland - In Leinefelde-Worbis there is movement on the housing market! On June 21, 2025, the city council unanimously passed the installation decision on the 29th amendment to the land use plan. The area in the Worbis district is affected, which is covered by the project -related development plan No. 131 "Gattner Project Development GmbH / Nordhäuser Straße". These areas are currently still shown as green spaces in the land use plan, but that should change soon.
The aim of the change is to create a planning law basis for new residential areas, which are urgently needed due to the high need for living space in the region. The exact scope could change during the planning process, which could be important for the affected citizens: inside. The city council will make the decision in accordance with the building code.
The steps of land use planning
But how does this planning actually work? A look at the legal foundations shows: The land use plan (FNP) represents a rough sketch of the use of soil for the entire municipal area and is considered the first planning element. In order to make the building rights concrete, it becomes a development plan (development plan). This then contains detailed, legally binding stipulations that also specify regulations on the structural design and use. The building code provides for this process in a two-stage procedure that ensures precise planning ( area.de , juracademy.de ).
It is important that municipalities in Germany have been obliged to publish their construction management online since 2017. This transparency promotes citizen participation, which is legally regulated and enables a high level of acceptance of the planning. This is the only way to ensure that the interests of the citizens: in the inside are appropriate to the planning.
a region in change
The initiative for rededing and creating new residential areas is not only an expression of local needs, but also advances against the challenges of modern urban planning such as demographic change and climate change. Urban planning must today have to be made more flexible and environmentally friendly in order to meet the needs of people and at the same time act ecologically sustainably. Area management plays a central role in the efficient use of the limited resources. This development is also supported by digital tools such as GIS, which significantly improve the planning processes and facilitate the accessibility of information.
The positive decisions of the city council show that Leinefelde-Worbis is willing to invest in the future and to adapt to the increasing demands on living space. The region is therefore well positioned in order to remain attractive to new residents in the coming years: to stay inside. We stay tuned and continue to report on developments in the place.
