Seulingen celebrates 1050 years with majesties and a grandiose party!
There is a celebration in Seulingen! On the occasion of the town's 1,050th anniversary, numerous events took place that celebrated the community and traditions. Not only the people of Seulingen took part in the festivities, but also many neighboring shooting clubs and visitors from the region. A highlight of the celebrations was the traditional parade, which was accompanied in a consistently cheerful atmosphere by two music groups - the original Landolfshausen brass musicians and the music procession from Nesselröden.
A special highlight this year was the announcement of a special 1050-year target, in which around 150 shooters took part. In an exciting competition, Bernd Rust was crowned 1050 anniversary king. The new majesties have also been announced: Sebastian Zapfe as the shooting king, Anna Schulz as the shooting queen and many others, including the young shooting king Simon Tauchmann and the youth king Marius Fuchs. The festival ended in a festive atmosphere with the proclamation of the new majesties and live music from the band Excite.
The holidays in detail
The festival, which was extended by one day, offered a packed program. It started on Friday with a musical party trip, where DJ Andy and the Wüstefeld Twins provided musical entertainment. The residents and guests had the opportunity to enjoy live music - bands such as “Die Gseea Wespn” and “Glücklich” played throughout the entire shooting festival.
The big parade took place under the brilliant sky, despite the mid-summer temperatures. Various Seulingen clubs and friendly shooting clubs came together to properly celebrate the anniversary. The atmosphere was characterized by happiness and a sense of community, which left a deep impression on everyone involved.
Another nice custom that is practiced in Seulingen is the distribution of celebratory chips to the kindergarten and school. These could be redeemed at the amusement park, which put a beaming smile on the faces of the youngest club members.
Shooting festivals – tradition and culture
Shooting festivals have a long tradition in Germany, the roots of which go back to the Middle Ages. It emerged from the shooting guilds that were founded to protect towns and villages. The first recorded shooting festival took place in Cologne in 1316 and has since become a popular celebration. Most shooting festivals include a parade and a shooting competition, as was the case in Seulingen. They are still one of the highlights in the German event calendar today and attract large crowds.
The shooting festival in Seulingen is not only a celebration of local customs, but also a successful opportunity to network, strengthen solidarity and experience the joy of celebrating together. Seulingen has once again proven that tradition and joie de vivre can go hand in hand - and it will certainly remain that way in the years to come.
