Baroque city dominates Erfurt 9:2 in the test match fireworks!
A truly remarkable performance by SG Barockstadt! On July 13, 2025, the team triumphed with an impressive 9-2 against Rot-Weiß Erfurt in a test match that took place at the Cyriaksgebreite sports center in Erfurt. Over 250 spectators watched the spectacle, which was held in four 30-minute periods. Some spectators were sure that they had witnessed a memorable game East Hesse News reported.
However, coach Daniyel Cimen, who only recently took over the reins at SG Barockstadt, did not want to overestimate the victory. In his opinion, the first third of the game was still quite balanced: “We found some playful solutions and worked well against Erfurt’s pressing,” said Cimen. What is particularly noteworthy is that Cimen, who previously worked successfully at FC Gießen, used a total of 22 players - a huge number considering that no guest players were on the pitch.
The goal scorers in detail
The match was a real goal festival. Tim Korzuschek scored the first goal in the 3rd minute. Erfurt was briefly able to respond with a goal from Marco Wolf in the 13th minute, but then a rain of goals started that the Erfurt team will not soon forget. The scorers were:
- 0:1 Tim Korzuschek (3. Minute)

- 2:4 Max Stadler (47. Minute)
- 2:5 Marius Grösch (49. Minute)
- 2:6 Max Lindemann (80. Minute)
- 2:7 Nikola Arcanjo Köhler (86. Minute)

- 2:9 Max Stadler (105. Minute)
A new trainer for a breath of fresh air
Newly appointed head coach Daniyel Cimen has a solid reputation in the Regionalliga, having previously worked at FC Gießen. There he was able to celebrate success and develop the team despite financial bottlenecks. Now he comes to SG Barockstadt with a clear game plan, whose contract runs until June 30, 2027. Cimen is grateful to FC Gießen, where his career had an important part, and has made a brilliant start in Cologne Frankfurter Rundschau reported.
After Sedat Gören's resignation, assistant coach Yasin Kocatepe took over on an interim basis, but Cimen is now firmly at the helm. With goalkeeping coach Witold Sabela and analyst Senouci Allam, the familiar coaching team remains in place, which could provide stability. The first team training under Cimen took place on Tuesday evening.
This was a tough test for the Erfurters, who start the league game against FSV Luckenwalde on July 25th, even if they competed with guest players and a U19 team. Their preparations now seem to have to be even more intensive in order to survive in the coming season.
Overall, SG Barockstadt's victory shows that something is going on here - and the region can be excited to see what the coaching team around Daniyel Cimen will achieve in the current season.
