Distent in Erfurt: Tauben chicks brutally pushed from the balcony!
Erfurt, Deutschland - In Erfurt, an incident shocked the animal lovers and animal rights activists alike. On June 12th, a worried wife became a cruel act when her neighbor simply swept down from his balcony on the third floor of Tauben-Küken. One of the little birds, the chick with the name "Nisha", fell unhappily to the ground, crashed into parts of the building and contracted the most serious injuries. Despite all the efforts of the witness to persuade the neighbors to insight, he remained unmoved. After only two hours, Nisha finally succumbed to her inner injuries. Her siblings, "Amela", survived the fall, but is under the shadow of equally serious injuries that still have to be examined.
The association "Erfurt Tauben" reacted shocked to the events and filed a complaint against the alleged animal torture, whose identity is already known. "We are horrified that such acts can happen in our city. Often, criminal prosecution remains unsuccessful in such cases because the perpetrators often remain unknown," said a spokesman for the association. It is particularly tragic that the neighbor could push the chick, even though he was addressed during the crime.
Investigations by the police
The police in Erfurt have already started the investigation into cruelty to animals. This is not the only incident that has recently attracted the attention of animal rights activists. A week before the incident in the city garden, a deaf that was unable to fly was found at the Juri Gagarin-Ring/corner of Krampferstrasse. This had no swing springs and all tail springs were torn down. The injured pigeon was called "Lisbeth" without further ado and is now being treated in a foster home. The pigeon must be put under anesthesia for comprehensive treatment so that the missing springs can grow back. The association assumes the veterinary costs by donations.
call for help
The "Erfurt Pigeon" Association, meanwhile, asks for information on the identification of the perpetrators to prevent possible future incidents. The animal rights activists are aware that such scandals are not isolated cases. According to reports from aninova there are always similar incidents that should shake society. "It is up to us to stand up for the voices and take animal welfare seriously," summarizes a member of the association.
The sad fates of Nisha, Amela and Lisbeth make it clear that there is an urgent need for action in Erfurt and beyond. It remains to be hoped that those responsible will be held accountable and that preventive measures will be taken in the future to save animals such suffering.
