Pumpkin Symphony in egapark: A colorful autumn attraction for the whole family!
In the cathedral city of Cologne, time is gradually moving into autumn: as the temperatures drop, many Cologne residents begin to look forward to the upcoming holidays. A special event is just around the corner that will provide colorful experiences: the pumpkin exhibition in egapark in Erfurt. From September 6th to October 31st, 2025, visitors to the Phillippswiese can marvel at a variety of artistically designed pumpkin figures under the motto “Pumpkin Symphony – From Classic to Pop”.
For the event, creative minds used over 50,000 pumpkins to create a total of eleven impressive figures. This colorful scenery should not only provide a unique backdrop for photos, but also inspire creative inspiration. But be careful: Visitors are asked not to damage or steal the pumpkins - we want to keep the fun for everyone!
Attractions in the egapark
On October 3, 2025, a public holiday, a real celebration for families will be celebrated in egapark. In addition to the pumpkin exhibition, visitors can expect various attractions, including a playground, the children's farm, and the observation tower. A highlight this year is the opportunity to find out more about the characters represented via QR codes - music from classical to pop can be experienced in this way.
Another exciting event will take place on October 4, 2025: the “Living on the Moon” lunar expedition, where families have the opportunity to learn more about life and work on our Earth's satellite. And best of all: a cover band will play the appropriate songs while our little astronauts can experience exciting activities at seven stations.
Autumn joys in the garden
The week of autumn also brings with it blooming plants in egapark. Hydrangeas, mahonia and several other plants are in all their glory and add color to the park landscape. The last week of planting in the large flower bed has begun and the first areas will be cleared from October 6th. For all garden lovers: The flower bulbs for spring blooms, including tulips, hyacinths and daffodils, are already being planted.
If you have time between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2025, you should definitely watch the workshop in the German Horticultural Museum. There, certified permaculture gardener Dorothea Schröder provides practical tips on the topic of “No Dig & Compost in Permaculture”.
October promises to be a real treat for the eyes and ears. No matter whether at the pumpkin exhibition in egapark or on the exciting moon expedition – there is something for everyone here. It's time to fill the cold season with colorful experiences!
