Georgenthal calls artists: creative projects for nature wanted!

Something is happening in Georgenthal! The rural community is looking for creative minds for thisCountry Festival, which will take place from October 10th to 12th, 2025. As part of the project“land urge”Artists have the opportunity to work in different disciplines and realize their ideas in the picturesque nature around Georgenthal. Oscar on Friday reports that the rural community is specifically looking for artists in the areas of land art, sound art and wood design. An important aspect of this project is the use of existing resources and natural materials. The goal? Creative projects that involve both nature and people!

Interested? Artists and students can apply until July 31, 2025. The residencies not only offer the opportunity for creative development, but also contribute to the connection between culture and nature in rural regions. Georgenthal has clear goals in mind in this context: participation offers for the population and tourists are of great importance in order to promote a sense of community and exchange.

Diverse activities and dialogues

The country festival will be more than just an art exhibition. Numerous activities are planned, including open-air exhibitions, workshops, lectures, guided themed hikes, sporting events, readings and even spa park concerts. The community not only wants to promote aesthetics, but also initiate a social dialogue on topics such as forests, nature conservation and land use. This is the inspiration for this concept “Aller.Land” program, which has been aiming to strengthen culture and democracy in rural areas since 2023.

How exactly does this work? A focus on social issues and the active involvement of citizens is central here. Acute conflicts and latent issues in the region are addressed in order to create space for discussions and opinion-forming processes. Creative actions should serve as catalysts for dialogue, which will also be reflected in the project days that have already been planned.

Sustainable cultural support

Cultural funding in rural areas appears to be on the rise. In the first phase of the “Aller.Land” program, 97 regions took part in 2024, each receiving funding of 40,000 euros. These funds were used to develop viable concepts for innovative and community-promoting projects. The targeted support from the federal government aims to give structurally weak rural areas a voice. Almost a small cultural miracle when you consider how complex and colorful rural culture can be!

In Georgenthal, not only art is promoted, but also nature is protected and the community is strengthened. A wonderful opportunity for artists who not only want to develop creative projects, but also have a positive impact on the community. Anyone interested now has until the end of July to demonstrate their creative talent and become part of this exciting festival.
