On August 29, 2025, Friedenstein Castle in Gotha will be the venue for a very special event: The Friedenstein Open Air 2025 will delight with the “Sounds of Hollywood” concert format. Organized by the Thuringia Philharmonic Gotha-Eisenach, the curtain rises on a multimedia spectacle that attracts film fans and music lovers alike. The talented Stefan Fraas is the musical director, and visitors can look forward to a select selection of highlights from film music history.
The stage is accompanied by renowned soloists such as Annika Rioux, Myra Maud and Lewin Blümel, while Hagen Bickel plays the bass clarinet. Vocal ensemble Voc A Bella will also contribute to the performance. Pieces by internationally celebrated composers such as John Williams, Giorgio Moroder and Ennio Morricone are planned. The announced melodies from films such as “The Lord of the Rings”, “Armageddon” and “Guardians of the Galaxy”, to name just a few, are particularly well known. “Dirty Dancing” and “Play me the Song of Death” will also be heard, which will certainly make movie fans' eyes light up.

The organizers have taken precautions: two large screens will project images and scenes from the films presented, which, together with the music, will give you goosebumps.
