Greiz Town Hall: Celebratory renovation makes it the jewel of the city!
A new chapter in the city's history has opened in Greiz. The town hall, a true architectural gem, is nearing completion of its renovation and is already being praised by citizens as one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Letter writers Annette Herrmann and Christine Reißmann recently expressed their thanks to everyone who contributed to this impressive renovation, such as: OTZ reported.
The renovation work on the town hall, which was built in 1909, has both preserved the historical substance and enabled modern beautification. The extension, which is stylistically adapted to the neo-Gothic town hall, enriches the cityscape and was designed as a Wilhelminian style building. Historical images show that there was previously a town house on this site that fell victim to the fire of 1908. With the renovation of the town hall, the city of Greiz has shown a good knack for preserving and revitalizing an important piece of city history.
Thanks to all contributors
Thanks go to the political decision-makers, funding providers, planners, construction companies and also the gardeners whose work contributed to beautifying the surrounding area. There is great hope that this step will be an important stimulus for sustainable development in Greiz, as the letters to the editor make clear. The town hall is not only the administrative headquarters, but also a symbol of change and efforts to create a lively city.
But it's not just the town hall that provides positive news in the city. Young people are also active: Maximilian Bonitz reports on a successful training camp for the youth fire brigade and the DLRG Ronneburg, which took place in the outdoor swimming pool. Under the motto “Together we are strong!” The participating children and young people aged 7 to 17 were able to deepen their skills in the areas of water rescue and fire protection. The training camp concluded with a breakfast together and the presentation of a challenge cup to the DLRG.
Further successes in Greiz
The sporting activities in Greiz are numerous. Alexander Petkov recognized the Seelingstädt mainstream school as the most sporty school in the district. A prize earned through numerous competitions in various sports. Gabriele Wetzel also reports on the celebratory anniversary event of the Pöllwitz local choir, which is now ten years old. The celebration in the Reußischer Hof sparkled with joy of life and the choir director Katja Schubert provided musical highlights.
Another highlight was the 42nd MC Münchenbernsdorf vintage car rally, which Tobias Frölich highlighted in his reports. Around 98 vehicles and motorcycles, including a vintage car from 1928, took part in the rally, which led through picturesque landscapes and concluded with an award ceremony in Münchenbernsdorf.
The city of Greiz is moving into an exciting future, characterized by new projects and a committed community. The ongoing measures as part of urban development, which are coordinated along the urban development concept (STEK), ensure that future generations will also benefit from the positive developments. The Thuringian urban development funding guidelines and the associated funding areas play a crucial role greiz.de describes.
