The Beeenzwehrersverein Ilmenau opens its gates and invites you to a colorful beekeeping festival in the school and leisure center (SFZ) next Saturday. In the middle of blooming nature, the beekeepers offer exciting insights into their work and the importance of bees for our ecosystem. The association, which has been looking back on a proud tradition since 1888, currently has to look after a total of 384 bee colonies in the region. Over half of the 50 members are passionate hobby beekeepers and come from Ilmenau as well as surrounding towns such as Großbreitenbach, Altenfeld and Gehren, to name just a few, as the Beeenzchterverein Ilmenau on its website reports .

In the past few weeks, nature in and around Ilmenau has literally blossomed. The club's beekeepers managed a total of 342 bee colonies last year. At the trainee stand, visitors can receive exciting information about beekeeping and its importance for agriculture.
