Keith Braxton: Science City Jena secures the ProA MVP!

The basketball Bundesliga gets a new star: Science City Jena has signed Keith Braxton, the most valuable player (MVP) of the ProA season 2025. The 28-year-old Swingman moves from VfL Sparkassenstars Bochum to Jena and will not only strengthen the team with its offensive skills, but also with his team player mentality. Last season, Braxton Bochum catapulted into the playoff, where he achieved an average of 20.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. He was not only the best player in his league, but also an indispensable part of the team that celebrated his first participation in the playoffs.

Keith Braxton, who comes from Franklinville, New Jersey, has had a remarkable basketball trip. He spent the college time between 2016 and 2020 at Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania. His career then led him through various European countries, including Israel, Belgium and Sweden, before moving to German ProA. Here he convinced with his skills and quickly drew attention to himself, so that Jena's coach Björn Harmsen sees him as an ideal reinforcement for his team. Harmsen particularly emphasizes Braxton's versatile playing style and its ability to set decisive accents both offensive and defensively, which can be extremely valuable for his team.

The move to Jena was officially announced on June 21, 2025. Braxton has signed a contract by the summer of 2026, which not only gives Science City security to have an outstanding player in the team, but also the chance to establish themselves in the Bundesliga in the long term.
