A total of around 38 million euros will be invested in the construction work, and the project can be financed regardless of league affiliation.

But that's not all: the expansion is scheduled to be completed for the stadium's 100th anniversary in 2020. New standing room will increase the number from 18,395 to 28,692, while an additional 4,700 new seats will be created to exceed the DFL minimum requirement of 8,000 seats by 300. The average number of spectators last season was a remarkable 20,859 per game - the occupancy rate was a rapid 95 percent.

A look into the future

Work on building a new clubhouse in front of the arena in the Köpenick district is also in full swing. Construction on the clubhouse began in spring 2018, and expansions to the Alte Försterei began in spring 2019. The entire project promises to offer the club and its fans an even better home. Ultimately, the club shows that it is one of the stable values ​​in German football even in times of trends and that it looks to the future with a good hand.
