We've been waiting for the summer holidays for weeks - and now they're finally here! From June 28th to August 8th, the focus in Nordhausen is on fun, adventure and creative experiences for children. During this time there are numerous offers that allow you to make the long days meaningful and exciting.
At the Nordhausen Family Center, primary school children aged 6 to 10 can go on a journey around the world. From August 4th to 8th the program will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For 40 euros per child per week you can register until July 28th on 03631 / 462650 or via email to familienzentrum-ndh@jugendsocialwerk.de. It's going to be exciting!
A variety of activities for the little ones
But that's not all! The Nordhausen district sports association has also set up a great circus project called “Zappelini”. This takes place daily from June 30th to July 4th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs only 25 euros. There are only eight places available, so register quickly!
In addition, swimming training with the '90 Nordhausen swimming club will be offered from July 7th to 11th. This takes place daily from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and costs 30 euros. Here the group size is limited to a maximum of 10 children - real individual care!
For kids who love reading, it’s time to open the books! There are two meetings in the Kids Book Club at Heringen Castle on July 9th and August 13th. Here children can immerse themselves in the world of stories for free from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Nordhausen City Library is also holding the “I am a reader” campaign for 8 to 12 year olds from June 23rd to September 13th.
Off to the great outdoors and to exciting destinations
The nature around Nordhausen also has a lot to offer. Trips to nearby zoos and animal parks, day trips to beautiful lakes or active hours playing mini golf and climbing are very popular. There are countless opportunities for outdoor activities such as walks in the area's scenic parks. If you're looking for more adventure, you can end your summer holidays at the Filmpalast Nordhausen, where current films such as "Kung Fu Panda 4" and "Everything's Inside Out 2" are shown every Tuesday at 10 a.m. Entry is very cheap at 5 euros (4 euros for groups of 20 people or more).
Children aged 8 and older can also take part in an exciting summer program at the youth art school. Creative topics such as mask making, upcycling and light objects are part of the offer here. Fun is guaranteed for 50 euros per week!
Another highlight will be the holiday games in the Nordhausen youth club from July 22nd to 25th. An exciting program for children between 10 and 14 years is offered here for 40 euros. And for the youngest there is also a great opportunity to be creative with the Kila craft camp from July 26th to August 3rd. Registration is absolutely necessary!
