baroque sounds under the magnifying glass

Andreas Conrad, who has held the function of the district cantor at the St. Georg in Schmalkalden since 2008, will play the organ. He studied at the Tübingen church music college, followed by a postgraduate course in harpsichord and ensemble line. The performance will include works by baroque greats such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel and Georg Muffat. These great masters of music art have shaped the genre with their compositions and revive the spirit of past times at the concert.

The organ itself, which is considered a remarkable testimony of baroque music, is particularly noteworthy. The 37 registers with a total of 2,144 pipes make you a diverse instrument. This impressive technical equipment ensures a sound spectrum that delights even the most demanding ears and underlines the importance of the organ building tradition in Thuringia.
